Alissa Burton joined the Fresno Building Healthy Communities team in 2021 as our Communications Specialist and now serves as our Marketing Specialist.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Alissa sought opportunities in Fresno to be closer to family.

Alissa graduated from Columbus College of Art & Design in 2011 with a BFA in Advertising and Graphic Design.

Throughout her design career, she has gained experience in management, retail design, horticultural design, stationary/event design, and photography. Alissa found her passion in the non-profit industry, working in design and communications for an Ohio-based educational non-profit advocating for retired teachers.

With nearly eight years of volunteer and advocacy work locally and nationally, Alissa believes that real, systemic change happens from the people up and that the people make democracy happen.
She is excited to advocate for ALL Fresnans and be a part of the change in the Central Valley.

In her spare time, Alissa enjoys pool days, baking, time with her nephews, playing with her dog, Ladybug, and painting.
